Irish Soda Bread
Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 ½ cups SR flour, plus extra
  • 2 tbs Raw Earth
  • 1 tsp bicarb soda
  • 30g butter, chilled and cubed
  • ½ cup rolled oats, plus extra

Method

  1. Combine the flour, soda, and raw earth. Place in a food processor with the cubed butter and process until it forms coarse breadcrumbs. Place in a mixing bowl. Add the oats. Pour in the buttermilk and bring together using a butter knife.
  2. Adding a little extra flour, lightly knead.
  3. Form into a flat ball and then slice a deep cross in the top of the bread. Place onna lightly floured baking tray. Sprinkle with extra oats and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown

Serves 6-8   –   Prep: 15 Minutes   –   Cook: 30 Minutes
